Here are some of the most common and interesting fish in Gorongosa National Park’s rivers, lakes and streams. It includes species recorded since 2004 by Bohme and Beate (“Geo-ecology of Lake Urema / Central Mozambique”) and some species likely to occur in this region (Freshwater Fishes of Southern Africa by Paul Skelton). If you visit the park and see a fish not on this list, please let us know!
We’re always looking for more photos of Gorongosa fish, so please send your best shots. Send all email and photos to contact@gorongosa.net.
