Gorongosa welcomed Nick North and the Norh to South Run

Nicolas North (better known as Nick) is a citizen of British origin bearing the Irish nationality and started on June 20 a race from the Rovuma river in northern Mozambique. He is running all over the country from north to south for a noble cause: the children of Mozambique.

His race fits into the framework of raising funds that will finance part of CONCERN Worldwide's activities in Mozambique.
CONCERN Worldwide is an international non-governmental organization which, after an agreement signed between the NGO and the government of Mozambique, has been working in humanitarian assistance in Mozambique since 1987.
In the wide range of activities carried out by CONCERN Worldwide, the funds raised by the challenge of Nick will be used to finance education programs of more than 120 schools in Mozambique, especially with the aim of facilitating access and improving quality of education for girls and children from poorest households.

Having already traveled more than half of the country, Nick arrived to the Gorongosa National Park where he will stay for two nights in order to re-energize for the rest of the journey that will end at Ponta de Ouro (Maputo Province).
In this race throughout the country, Nick has three full-time companions. Hendrik Pott, from the Gorongosa Park, is one of the companions selected for this great humanitarian event. Hendrik Pott and his assistant, Filipe Rassai, are with Nick since Murrupula (Nampula Province). The two will follow Nick till Muxungué (close to the Save river) where Mr. Greg Pickett will replace them in the care of Nick.
