In June a team from 60 Minutes, a US-based news program, filmed a story in Gorongosa National Park. 60 Minutes is a CBS News magazine program that covers current events stories from around the world. During their stay, they had the opportunity to film incredible scenery around the Park, from Mount Gorongosa to the limestone gorges. They captured breathtaking footage of wildlife including lions, elephants, hippos, and crocodiles. They visited nearby local communities. And they performed interviews with Greg Carr, and others on the Gorongosa team.
The show is scheduled to air in September, 2008. Please subscribe to the Gorongosa National Park eNewsletter to stay updated on the date of the show airing.
The team was comprised of correspondent Scott Pelley, producer Henry Schuster, associate producer Rebecca Peterson, cameramen Chris Everson and Ian Robbie, and soundman Anton Vandermerwe. These pictures show the 60 Minutes team exploring and filming in the Park:
