50 years ago, the Gorongosa Reserve turned into a National Park!

Gorongosa National Park turned 50 years old on July 23rd, 2010 (it was created by Legislative Diploma no. 1993, on July 23rd, 1960). Before it was a Game Reserve, where since 1935, hunting was not allowed.
