Leaders representing twenty of Mozambique's most important national and multinational companies met at Gorongosa National Park June 28-30 for a workshop to discuss the role of their companies in promoting economic and social development of the country - the first such meeting to be held in Mozambique.
The meeting, "Reflections and Perspectives of Social Responsibility and Corporation Ethics in Mozambique," was attended by CEO´s, Managing Directors, General Managers and senior managers from companies like ABC Leasing, Banco Austral, CFM, Ceta,
Cimbetão, Ernst & Young, IPG, KPMG, Lusalite, mcel, Millennium bim, MIPS, Petromoc, Soico, SGS, TDM, Turconsult and Vidagás.
The meeting was organized by FEMA (Fórum Empresarial para o Meio Ambiente - Corporate Forum for Environment and Social Responsibility) and by Do It, a communications consultant working in the area of social responsibility, with the support of the Global Pact Mozambican network and Gorongosa National Park.
The main objective of the meeting was to debate the possible ways to promote social responsibility in business and the role of these leaders and companies in the economic and social development of the country.
Gorongosa National Park provided to all participants excellent lodging and working conditions as well as the opportunity to enjoy and see, during the working session breaks, some of the wildlife within the unique landscapes that made this Mozambican Park so famous.
