Staff Scientist Publishes a Journal Article about a Gorongosa Hot Spring

Franziska Steinbruch, Manager of Scientific Services at Gorongosa National Park, published a scientific journal article on the characteristics of the only known hot spring in the Gorongosa National Park region. The article, titled “Characterization of a Pleistocene thermal spring in Mozambique” and co-authored by Broder J. Merkel, was published in the June, 2008 edition of the Hydrogeology Journal. The article describes the origin of the hot spring’s water, the discharge, and its chemical composition.
