Closing of 2011 Season

Gorongosa National Park has a seasonal shutdown from 12 December 2011 until sometime in March, 2012.

While the Park remains green and spectacular, moving by any type of vehicle (including 4X4) during the wet period is difficult and can be dangerous.

We plan to reopen for visitors to Chitengo Camp and the dryer areas of the Park on mid of March, 2012.

Game Drive roads will open progressively as conditions allow. Please watch this website for updated information or email contact@gorongosa.net for current conditions.

We are taking reservations for the March – December season throughout this period, so please don’t hesitate to email us.  See you in Gorongosa in 2012!
