INTERNATIONAL PUBLIC TENDER TO CONTRACT TOURISM OPERATORS FOR PARQUE NACIONAL DA GORONGOSA

Under Internal Resolution No. 4 / 2007 of December 18, the Government of Mozambique approved a Long Term Agreement for the joint management of Parque Nacional da Gorongosa that provides the terms and conditions for the development and joint management of the Park by the Ministry of Tourism and the foundation “Gorongosa Restoration Project."

The agreement defined one of its objectives, among others, to develop in the Park and the surrounding areas a sustainable tourism industry committed to maintaining ecological integrity that will stimulate economic growth in the Sofala Province in particular and Mozambique as a whole,  and in addition will facilitate Parque Nacional da Gorongosa reaching economic self-sustainability.

The Ministry of Tourism and the Foundation "Gorongosa Restoration Project" intend, within their powers for joint management of Parque Nacional da Gorongosa and, also, in accordance with the provisions of the Plan for Tourism Development of the Park, to start the process of contracting with tourism operators for the use of certain areas of the Park, always ensuring ecological integrity, with participation and contribution from local communities as well as the preservation and conservation of the Parque Nacional da Gorongosa.

Therefore, the Ministry of Tourism  and the Foundation "Gorongosa Restoration Project" launch this INTERNATIONAL PUBLIC TENDER TO CONTRACT TOURISM OPERATORS FOR PARQUE NACIONAL DA GORONGOSA.

BIDDERS
The Tender will be open to businesses incorporated in the Republic of Mozambique and also to businesses incorporated abroad provided they make a firm commitment to incorporate in Mozambique in the case of an award.  Also permitted to bid in this tender are businesses associated as consortiums or other groupings of companies and foreign companies that form associations with national companies.
