Here is the article featured on Tatler Travel Guide January 2011:

"EXPLORE GORONGOSA
Gorongosa, Mozambique

Bring on the American-billionaire charity kings, taking on Africa as their pet project.
Inland Mozambique, for years ravaged by civil war, is now blossoming under the patronage of a new, anonymous Pink Panther of philanthropy.

Gosh, it's special here. It's like safari from the Sixties, where you drive miles and miles in a different direction every day without another soul to see. It's so romantic, so lamp-lit, so involving. This is a work in progress; game-Viewing is good but, with the war over, it will get even better. The riverine plains and the lovely hills are limitless - perfect for walking. There's the lovely resident bushbuck Christopher at the camp; then walk to find a hippo, track a herd of ellies or spot the baboons zigzagging through the trees. There is a riot of birds - 400 kinds!

The joy of Gorongosa is experiencing it in its raw blossoming infancy; the big plan the mysterious benefactor envisages is opening up the old passage between the Kruger and Mozambique. In the meantime, feast on peppered steak, catch Jupiter rising, get excited under your duvet at night as a lion's footfall pad-pads through the camp.
