Airlink introduces additional route to meet demand

The ever growing search for tourist air transportation from South Africa to the capital of Sofala province in transit bound for Gorongosa National Park (GNP) is identified as one of the fundamental factors that caused Airlink to introduce a flight on Saturdays Johannesburg – Beira, the main starting point to get to Chitengo tourist camp by land or air.  This information can be found in the July 2009 edition of the printed version of Airlink’s in flight magazine, Skyways, published by Panorama Publications.

In a short article titled in English in the original text, "Daily flights between Johannesburg and Beira", Skyways magazine writes that Airlink introduced, without giving the date, a flight on Saturdays from Johannesburg to the second largest Mozambican city, Beira, in order to permit that the frequency of flights between the two localities corresponds to the business and passenger demand.

The above-cited text states that the air company equally saw a growing demand of GNP leisure travelers, as well as weekend clients from Johannesburg.

In this context, Airlink modified its daily flights to the Beira International Airport, within the scope of expanding new routes for the company.

Airlink flies to different destinations in Southern Africa, including Pemba, situated in the north of Mozambique and the entrance to the Quirimbas Archipelago, known for its islands and dazzling, idyllic beaches.  The profile of its passengers is represented largely by businessmen and tourists.

Remember that GNP is always a destination of excellence for many national and foreign excursionists due to the extravagance and exclusivity of its ecosystems- from grasslands, acacias, savannas, Miombo forests and mountains, as well like countless species of mammals, reptiles and birds.
