Community Profiles

The traditional communities in and around Gorongosa National Park are home to more than 250,000 people. Most of these communities include at least one market center that draws people from outlying farms to socialize, to collect water from a bore hole, and to trade goods and services. Each community has unique characteristics even though they share the same languages (Sena and Portuguese), religious beliefs, and cultural traditions.
