Restore the Mountain

null

Reaching the summit of the mystical Mount Gorongosa is like stepping through a portal into a hidden world. Lush Moist Evergreen Forest and gorgeous waterfalls greet the adventurer. With several peaks reaching 1,800 meters above sea level, the Gorongosa Mountain system is startlingly beautiful, made more so by its seclusion. Hundreds of bird and plant species have been recorded on Mount Gorongosa, some of which can be found nowhere else on earth.

YOU CAN HELP!
We need your help in this important campaign to protect Mount Gorongosa -- one of Mozambique’s most treasured natural wonders--before it’s too late. Donate to help plant trees on the mountain. More>

Tree Planting
We are protecting areas that remain forested while replanting deforested areas. We have hired local people to build tree nurseries and replant areas on the mountain. These tree planters can now support their families by planting trees. More>

Mountain Ecosystem
Mount Gorongosa is a special ecosystem that is worth fighting to restore. Its forests are home to a rich diversity of plants and animals, its rivers support the ecosystem of the Park below, and the mountain’s resources are vital to the livelihoods of many local people. More>

Help Replant Trees
